Along The Walk Tour, I picked up a copy of "South of Stephen". Since I'm a newer fan (2006) and used to the newer music, I wasn't expecting to like this album as much as the other ones. But for the last week, it's all I've been listening to.
My favorite song is "Dark Side Of The King". Lord knows how many times I've heard that song in the past twenty-four hours alone. It just has such amazing lyrics and imagery, and I think imagery is very important in songs. I like to be able to "see" what I'm hearing.
One line that stood out to me since the very first time I heard that song was, "they'll wash their hair in gasoline, and then they'll rinse it in the rain...". I knew that I wanted to "take a picture" of this line. So today, I had my best friend Nicole be my model, and we went down to the park and tried our best to make this lyric come to life.
Photography is still very new to me. I started getting serious about it last fall, and just started taking classes right before The Walk Tour started. (Then I went on tour for a week, so I have a lot to catch up on. Haha.) But here's what I came up with in order to represent that line in the song. I'm pretty happy with them.
