    Hey SK6ERS Fans,

My girlfriend and I saw SK at Jammin Java on 4/22/11 as part of Solo/Down Low tour and he played a version of Milwaukee where he added an entire second half to the song about family and "roots & wings" and it was awesome.

I'd love to get a copy of a recording of it or at the very least a copy of the lyrics. Any fans out there know where I could get my hands on that? Has he played that version at any other sites on the tour?

    Many thanks in advance!

Greg Teltschik recorded the show and uploaded it to the Live Music Archive. Last I heard, he wasn't happy with some of the files and is planning on uploading replacement files as soon as the Archive lets him. In the meantime, though, you can still download Milwaukee. It's in FLAC format, so you need to convert it to WAV first (unless your media player has a FLAC decoder, which many do these days).

Is the Roots and Wings segment of the song a cover of another song? Or is it something he created? Either way, it is awesome.

"roots and wings" is a common phrase from some quote about the most important gifts to give children. Someone correct if I'm wrong, but I'd be surprised if that part of the song isn't all his own.

The first time I heard him do that version was on the holiday tour. It was awesome because those shows (or at least, the one I attended) were sort of a quieter, sit-down atmosphere, and when it came to Milwaukee I wondered how they were going to pull off the high-energy "melody, heartbeat, words" bit that we've all grown to love. Then he goes and pulls out something so new and beautiful, and just amazed me all over again! I just love how their songs grow with time.
