In case anyone was curious... Taping will not be allowed on the tour with Hanson. Hopefully they'll come around upstate NY with a headlining tour this summer.

Depending on how strict each venue is, you could probably get away with recording a song or two.

Is this the norm with Hanson? It doesn't sound like a very Sixers thing to do.

Rule of thumb is the headliner sets the policy. If Hanson doesn't allow taping, it's their call to not allow it. The Sixers have no say in it. I only know of one instance (Sheryl Crow and John Mayer co-headlinign shows) where they made a compromise, all recording stuff had to be down and unplugged for Cheryl Crow and was permitted for John Mayer.

You'll notice high quality recordings of bands that do not allow taping (David Byrne, REM, etc) who appear at Bonnaroo and other festivals that set the policy of taping allowed. It's part of the contract/rider that the performances are allowed to be recorded by the audience. Their individual policies are overridden by the festival.

Taping is a priveledge and not a right. The Sixers prohibited taping of the Acoustic Glassjaw Boxer tour because they didn't want the new album being released in live format before they released their studio album which makes perfect sense. Here's to hoping they recorded some of them themselves and will release it eventually as that tour was great and would love to be able to revisit it :)

What I'm wondering... is if The Sixers will be taking the one mile walks with Hanson. That'd be pretty awesome.

Seems a little off topic for this thread.......

"The Walk" is a mile walk Hanson does with whoever wants to come the day of the show. You typically meet at the venue around 3 of the day of the show. It is to bring awareness to the AIDS epedemic in Africa. It ties in with their partnership with TOMS shoes (every pair you buy, TOMS donates a pair to a child in Africa...Hanson sells them at their shows/website). Hanson walks barefoot. Hanson.net does a much better job of explaining it, so go there if you want additional info. You check hanson.net on the day of the show to see what time "the walk" is at. Hope that gives you a littie bit of an explaination, at least.
