Ooh, Syracuse, too bad it's during the week!
They said in NYC a few weekends ago that the 4/3 show in NYC will be the 1,000 show!! I really wanted to go until I realized it's Easter weekend... Hope I can make some of the spring tour dates.

Great news! Thanks so much Manda for posting, we'll probably be doing Syracuse, very excited!

I'm so game for the 1,000th show. My mom and I told Boots that we would be there, no matter what. Even if it was in China. Haha.

Add a big ol' WOOO HOOOO for me
I have a friend in the DC area and was contemplating heading there in March to see her as well as see Scythian play at the Shamrock Fest on the 13th. And now to find out that the SK6ERS will be there too only makes it THAT much sweeter...so my trip is becoming much more of a definite thing!!

1,000th at Somerville Theater two blocks from my house? I win.

The 1000th show is the NYC show.

wow that's a lot of dates but none are near us
I'm really hoping they add in the dates you posted Manda, I looked quickly and it seems like they have room from the end of March until the end of April so maybe they'll in some headling shows in there.
Has anyone heard of NEEDTOBREATH?<3 Cathy & Kelly <3Posted 8 months ago on December 15, 2009 LINK -
If the ones you posted here are mostly headlines and all the west/southern dates are with needtobreathe (supporting them)..i think i'd rather do the northeast ones if any... plus, 1000th show!

I've head a lot of good things about needtobreathe! I wish I could catch some dates.

They said at the show in Somerville this fall that the 1,000th show would be in Boston. They made a big point of Boston feeling like home, etc. etc.
WTF?
Posted 8 months ago on December 16, 2009 LINK -
Haha they said the same thing at NYC during the Bowery shows.

Not sure if this helps you Manda & Starry83 but in Rochester Stephen said that there will be 10 shows to celebrate the 1,000 show so maybe they're doing both Boston and NYC and counting it as part of the big 1,000th show celebration! I think some of the cities he mentioned were Philly, NYC and something with a W lol sorry didn't catch what it was. So hopefully both of you will end up getting to be a part of the 1,000th show
I just hope they post the dates soon!

Stephen said at Bowery that they're be back to NYC in April for their 1000th show. What the heck? He's lying to one of us. Haha.
--ChrissyPosted 8 months ago on December 16, 2009 LINK -
lol!!! Well since the Bowery show you were at was after the Rochester show maybe they changed plans and are only going to be doing the one NYC 1,000th show instead of the 1,000th show mini tour? I just hope they post soon this is very confusing lol!
<3 Cathy & Kelly <3Posted 8 months ago on December 16, 2009 LINK -
This is definitely confusing!
I'd also like to know how they're counting the shows. Back on November 21st, 2008, when the Sixers were here in Philly, Stephen mentioned that it was their 969th show... With all the touring they do, that would mean that the 1,000th show should've been somewhere in 2009.
But then again, Stephen had one-too-many to drink that night...
--ChrissyPosted 8 months ago on December 16, 2009 LINK -
around the time of the somerville show stephen told me that the 1000th show would either be in NYC or back at the Somerville theatre but because a few dates weren't confirmed yet, he wasn't 100% sure which one. i'm figuring that they confirmed these dates before the bowery show and that's why they announced that the 1000th would be back in NYC.
i'm confident that both shows will rock equally - whether it is their 1000th or their 998th or their 2434th.
just do what i'm doing - go to both!

I love that they are touring with NeedtoBreathe. On the fall tour, NeedtoBreathe had openers of Green River Ordinance, Serena Ryder, Andrew Ripp, and the Alternate Routes. They are a great group of 4 guys w/ a touring keyboard player. I am a big NTB fan so this makes me incredibly happy. I think you will enjoy NTB. They focus on similar stylings as SK6ers (mando, banjo, acappella, and spot on harmonies). If you are nervous, look up their song Something Beautiful on youtube. They sing this song w/ no sound projection at the end of the show. It sounds incredible live.
SarahPosted 8 months ago on December 16, 2009 LINK -
Thanks for the info Elise, that makes much more sense now! I'm thinking they might have had the ten shows planned but since they received the opportunity to open for this other band they might have thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and do another tour as an opener before doing another headling tour.
So are you guys thinking those pollstar dates are not going to happen? Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll add those in, cross you fingers!!
Thanks for the info on NEEDTOBREATHE Sarah they sound really good I will check them out
We may be going to Cleveland but that's just a maybe as of right now!

Speak of the devil, Something Beautiful by Needtobreathe was on So You Think You Can Dance tonight.

Hey you guys...love you for keeping this lil' community rolling and smoking out the info...Just finished writing the last of the lyrics and heading out early AM to do Springfield, MA and Northampton, MA radio...WRNX 100.9 is at 10am and WRSI is at 5pm..check em out if you're around..but thought I'd clear up any controversy (which is kinda my gig on this message board).
For anyone checking around for the lyrics, we wrote em' as fast as we could get em and they're all turned in for framing..more then half have gone out already and the more recent orders will go out Friday morning at the latest...so that's that.
District Lines sucking..eeek..I sent that to our management who uses them for his other clients Owl City, Dispatch, Dr. Dog etc and they supposedly don't get complaints very often from any of those bands, but I'd hate to think of people having a bad time and we'll definately look into it.
As to the tour...Many dates supporting NeedToBreathe...we're excited about that...Other then the "Under the Influence" (which despite the comment above about me drinking in Philadelphia which is ridiculous as I drank nothing but vitamin water on both those shows, but whatever...has to do with influence of bands, etc.) Holiday tour this week, we're just planning 5 headline dates for the spring. Boston wasn't available for our 1000th show so it's in NYC. I love NYC, boots lives there and we grew up there. If we're comparing notes of which city is better, they're both totally awesome and I really do love em' both. I don't say that about Orlando...but I think it's ok to like both, yup, it's ok. So 998 will be Boston. We will have the list of shows we've played as a band available on a tour poster for those wanting to cross reference the dates (-=
What else...we'll planning on doing two sets for those headline dates and the opener will be kept a secret and will be solo acoustic...ooooohhh mystery...Boston, Burlington and NYC are correct as well as Syracuse and Pittsburgh. No Philly till next Fall most likely, sad about that but we are finishing our year there this year...
Boots is asleep down stairs and thanks for being with us...we'll let you know more when we know.
xoxo
