Good call, Laura! If you are reading this and haven't heard Matt, stop what you're doing right this minute and go to iTunes or head to the local record store and pick up every album you can get your hands on. Then tomorrow, go back to the record store and purchase Some Mad Hope--I agree with Amanda, from what I've heard, this is a great album!

Mine came in the mail today!!! It definitely is.

I got the EP from iTunes, and I'm really looking forward to hearing the whole disc.
He's playing a free show at Copley in Boston on Thursday; I can't wait.

Ooo have fun! I was randomly in town when he played there a couple years ago and it was a great time (not to mention, the day I first saw SK and look what happened). I'm not sure how I'm going to survive until October!

i gotta get my hands on this new disc, the songs i've heard so far are killer good.

I live and work in providence now so i'll never make it in time-elisePosted 3 years ago on August 14, 2007 LINK -
i actually drove to best buy to get it instead of buying it from itunes, and that's love with today's gas prices. for me, it will be hard to top BTF but so far, it was definitely worth the wait.

I didn't find one in my area today, but tomorrow brings new hope! I dug out Still Waiting For Spring today to tide me over though!

ernst was actually my favorite before some mad hope came out. btf was awesome, but i liked the rawer sound of ernst better than anything.

why does the type seem to get bigger with each reply?
But about matt, each album just gets better and better. i think he did an amazing job on this one. Half the songs bring me to tears. He is one of the few musicians that can do that.

It is my understanding from previous posts on the subject that the enlarged font is a result of the Safari internet browser on a Mac. I'm a mac user, so I switched to Firefox from Safari (at the guidance of Neddi or someone) and the issue cleared right up!
Amanda--I love love love Ernst, too! Little Victories is my jam, and the Still Waiting For Spring version is my fav! On Ernst, I love All Been Said Before--I agree it's so raw compared to the one on Not Colored Too Perfect.
Yay for Matt Nathanson!!

yeah, call me an acoustic junkie
i'm a sucker for the raw sound. hence why i love seeing a solo artist without a band live best. i love nathanson's band, and they're all aweseome guys, but i just think the emotions on his songs come through stronger when it's just that voice of his and the 12-string.

The first time I saw Matt Nathanson it was just him with Matt Fish (I think they opened for Guster in 2003-ish...), and from then on out I was hooked!
Posted 3 years ago on August 15, 2007 LINK -
early 2004 here... him and fish did a co-headlining show with gavin degraw at hob chicago. i picked up btf not long after it came out and i loved it, but i didn't expect to come out of the show loving matt so much. i didn't want him to leave the stage.

Suuuuch a great album.
Last.fm is going to HATE me for playing it so much.

You should definitely try and check him out on the fall tour if you can!!!!! If you love him now, you'll love him even more after experiencing a live show!
That is sad, I think everyone I know that ordered it has gotten it. Hopefully it comes today!

I finally bought the cd yesterday and am totally in love with it..so so good!
I'm pretty bummed that I don't think I'm going to get to see him on the fall tour. He's playing in DC on a Thursday, which would be perfect since I have no Friday classes...but the show is early and I don't think I'll be able to make it into the city in enough time. plus no one will go with me! booooooo His live shows are the BEST and I haven't seen him since last October!

That sucks! No one will ever go with me either. I bought my roommate a ticket for the Minneapolis show though and told her she's coming and has no choice in the matter. Now she'll know what she's been missing!

matt fish adds so much when he plays with matt, i really want to see them together again. the full band is great too, of course, but it's hard to believe that such a rich sound can be made with just a guitar, a cello and a voice.

I have no problem finding people to go on the weekends, but during the week is hard because everyone has school and work and is not as eager as me to skip out on it to go to shows! haha!
I've never seen just Matt Nathanson and Fish, but I wish I have. I've seen just Matt and full band shows.

I'm glad I managed to see Matt with Fish together, even though it was only once! A reunion someday would be excellent.
Britt- I know what you mean. I'll drop anything for a show, "normal" people apparently won't...the world isn't going to end if you miss one club meeting!

i'm skipping out on one day of school next week to go to a show... it's my last semester of college and one day really isn't gonna make a difference in the long run.
-amandaPosted 3 years ago on August 17, 2007 LINK -
I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only person who drops everything for a good concert. As a matter of fact, I'm skipping my first day of classes for a show next week. I'll only miss an art class, so hopefully the excuse that it's a "cultural experience" will work
As far as Matt Nathanson goes, "Some Mad Hope" is a great album. I had never really listened to his music before, but I'm really loving it.

my problem is, as usual, i cant find people to go with me. i totalled my car the other day and couldn't possibly drive in dallas even if i wanted to. but i'm going to try to work something out...i really want to see a show...finally!

We all just need to live closer together so we can be crazy people who skip school/work to go to shows together...it would solve all of our problem of needing someone to go with us! I say everyone just moves to DC/VA and come with me...deal?!
We will all be much happier since we'll be able to see Matt with a friend!~Britt~
~Britt~Posted 3 years ago on August 17, 2007 LINK -
i'm trying to convince a friend of mine from new orleans to just live with me for a semester so she can join me on all my crazy ventures this fall. she's only seen matt once (his first time playing there wasn't that long ago, last month i think), and she needs more nathanson in her life.
