Amy- it's nice to see someone who's followed the same musical path as I have. those discoveries changed my life.

also, can I just bring up the 'stache growing competition of summer06.... same timeframe as SK being pushed down the stairs by Kit (or, just falling) and braking his ankle.

    SK6 lie-
Boots and his 8 siblings were raised by their grandmother, in West Virginia. The story of Boots' childhood reminded Cousin Jess of the nursery rhyme 'there was an old woman who lived in a shoe'- but "Shoes" didn't work well as a nickname, and so he was dubbed "Boots".

I just watched the Sweetest Goodbye video and it sparked up thoughts about this thread for me. I don't know what ppls feelings on making it big are, but I am a huge supporter of great music being put out there for everyone to hear. Some ppl call it selling out but I say it’s being at the top of your game. I have followed many bands from their beginnings and it is very exciting when they hit the charts and go big. Today an American idol winner can become a huge pop star without putting in the work of a band that has been out on their own for countless years trying to make a name for themselves. A person like Howie Day, who I have followed from the begging when he used to perform alone with his looping pedals and delays in coffee houses, who hit it big and then took a dive; to someone like Matt Nathanson who has been around 15+ years and is still working the “underground” (if you will) scène. I wanted to kno what any ones feelings on SK and the sixers making it big are? Sad to say but making it big is now defined as being on MTV or VH1, but also if they were to make it on the music charts and move on to bigger and better tours.

I read that the guys were signed with Universal records for their self-titled album but then parted ways. Glassjaw Boxer was then released under an independent label. Anybody know anything about the bands record company past and/or present? Seems to me Universal would be the company to further the bands career and popularity, but I don’t know the particulars.

Everfine... the same label OAR uses.

I think I speak for a couple other people when I say no matter how big they get, if they're happy, I'm happy. That's all. :D
