I've decided there is not enough Gavin love in the Sixers fan base.
Yes, he has been on a break 'recording an album' aka being an alcoholic but damn it he is good and I love him!
Saw him, finally, again a few nights ago.

Didnt he release a single recently, I presumed it was off a new album but sounds like that won't be anytime soon?

I've never seen him live before, but I won tickets to his show on Friday along with a little sound check meet and greet. He was freakin' fantastic! And such a darlin'

What's the new album like? I was really into Chariot, but haven't heard the new stuff. (Appraisals beyond "it's not so/great" appreciated.)

A lot of the songs sound very similar to the ones on his last cd. If you liked Chariot you'll probably really like his newest album. My favourite songs on it are "Next to Me" and "I Have You to Thank". He's got a couple older songs on it too that he's been singing live for a while like Cop Stop (sounds pretty different than the way he used to perform it live), We Belong Together, and Relative.

I'm really excited to see him live again though! He's playing a few shows close-ish to me in July.

But in the end its just me and me and me and thats all

I saw him a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it, but Michael Tolcher and Ingram Hill were with him, so I may have been compeltely biased.

    I agree with Colleen.
Cop Stop live is awesome, but the album version is not good.
Relative is good in the studio..but not as good as it is live..probably just because it took out the f-word, but that was the best part of the song.

I think the album is worth buying!

His latest tour dates have not been working for me. I couldn't get off work when he was here before the album came out and now when he's coming back, I'm going to PA to see my grandpa! :( poo! I haven't seen Gavin live in fooooooooooooorever

I am not a fan anymore!
I think the album was a complete cop out
    He needs to refocus!

Yeah. I do not like the new album. As a huge huge fan for five years, his album plays on my itunes are barely double digits. We Belong Together has been played 10 times... that's just sad. Clive Davis needs to get his head out of his ass and realize Gavin is better than the poppy piece of crap that his new album is.

Afraid I have to agree with you guys on the album a bit dissapointing and I much prefer the old version of We Belong Together, it was so simple and beautiful and its a bit over produced on the album I think. However I still love Gavin he is soo dreamy!!

although i like the album. it was dissapointing. It just doesnt seem like there is any soulful meanings in these songs. and if you listen to the beginning of 'Cheated on Me' its 'We Belong Together' almost exactly. I do like some of the songs, Cop Stop sucks really bad, i love it live and always have but this version is horrible. We Belong Together had no point of being on the album. i have about 15 versions of it and its just a waste of space.

I wish there were more slow songs on the cd, i feel as if he has sold out to be on the radio because Chariot was ten times better than this cd and all of it sounds like pop unlike Belief and More than Anyone and so on. He is such a talented and amazing person i just dont see the need to sell out. i guess fans? but he lost fans by dissapearing for so long.

I saw him about a month ago and he was still amazing. the stuff sounded good live.

One thing that really bothers me. the keyboard player in the band? i dont get it? he plays the piano and has never had one before and now he feels the need for one? i dont know its weird. And i miss the old band =[

sorry for my really long ranting post.

You know, I wasn't impressed at all with the album when I first heard it. But after listening to it a few more times, it really grew on me and now I actually love it. If you give it a fair chance, it really does get better.

I agree that the live version of Cop Stop is way better than the album version, and I cannot stand the song Relative, but I really like it overall.

It's very slowly growing on me. I like Let it Go... and... Untamed... ... it's not great but it's not HORRIBLE.
I love Gavin. He's so nice. He's still amazing live and a sweetheart so there are no hard feelings.

i saw him a few nights ago for the first time in 4 years...and he was absolutely amazing. sure, the new album isn't necessarily my favorite - but he's so good live it's easy to forget how much i don't like some of the songs.
