    Hey Guys,

Need some help here... My red Yamaha Keytar has faced a perilous fall and no longer works correctly. I need to replace it and am having a hard time finding one. So, I am hoping you can all check your basements and see if you may have one. It is a Yamaha SHS-10. I will happily trade something of worth for it. If you find anything please e-mail me at kit@stephenkellogg.com. Thanks for helping a Goose out... He needs it :D

Yea, I was going to suggest eBay, as well. When you search for it on Google, eBay is the only "store" that comes up that has it. Wow. It really is rare, isn't it?

That's a bummer. I love the keytar. Hope you're able to replace it, Goose!

I actually checked Ebay first and then realized how stupidly expensive they are. So, that is why I am hoping someone can find one miraculously in their basement and I can trade them something really cool from my basement for it

If I had one in my basement, you could have it. I'll ask my brother. He might actually have one...

All I have in my basement is a rarely touched Casio keyboard of some-sort... not even sure of the model. All I know is that I HAD to have it for Christmas some years ago, and then never taught myself how to play. How about I stick a guitar strap on it and bring it to the show tomorrow? Haha. Nah, that wouldn't be the same.

Am mourning loss of keytar... this "perilous fall" couldn't have happened in a moment of exuberant dancing, could it? I will ask around, as I feel that I know a lot of people who might have owned one.

You should try posting on Craigslist. I think you can only do it on a city by city basis, but people are willing to trade/sell some pretty random things. You never know.

Welp, I had a keytar once upon a time just like yours! I may have sold it in a yard sale at some point, but my mom is going to search our garage and under my brother's bed (God help her!) for the long lost keytar. I'll get back to you if it's located. I do know that the battery cover was broken a long time ago, so the batteries are held in by duct tape. If you still have the broken keytar on hand, you might have to perform a battery cover transplant on mine. I'll keep you posted.

It sounded great to me, but I'm not a keyboardist, so Kit would know better than I would. But if it still needs to be replaced, I hope he's able to get another one. I'll try to remember to ask about it at the show tonight!

Well, I said I'd keep you posted, but I'm afraid I have bad news...we were unable to locate the keytar. My mom is pretty sure I sold it a couple of years ago. Terribly sorry! I checked some Goodwill stores, yard sales, and pawn shops in the area, but keytars are shockingly hard to come by. I'm kicking myself for putting mine in a yard sale...apparently I could have sold it for $1,000,000 on ebay! Best of luck in finding one! Sorry to be such a keytar tease.
