I was at the show too and I can't confirm the OAR bit, but if you go to club passim's website, you can buy tickets to the show. there's a 7 and a 10 pm show on the 27th o' december.

I was also at the show and don't think that SK would make this up... maybe they're a special guest.
Nice use of gratuitous question marks in the subject.

You are the first person I've ever heard who looks forward to the Passim food. I buy my mandatory dollar value of food via raspberry lime rickeys, and I'm not a picky eater. I guess I have a deep-seeded issue with places who shun cheese for any reason.

I was not a fan of the food. We got some pizza thing and gave it to Boots after the show cause it was gross...but the venue is AWESOME!!

    I absolutely LOVE their food!
I am known to get takeout when I am home just because I go through withdrawls.
I need to go over thanksgiving break.

The pizza is the best, also the cold pasta thai dishes are amazing.
    Soup too:)
The desserts are not that great though. My friend got dessert when we where there and it tasted a bit spolied.

The venue is amazing as well!
    I enjoy the open-mics

    Hey Everyone,

I'm a pretty big sixers fan and I was wondering if anyone goes to these shows alone. I ask cause I have a lot of friends, but only one is into the sixers, and hes pretty much into it only cause the possibility of getting hammered and thrown out of the paradise rock club for underage drinking. Any feedback on this would be great!

you're never alone with the sixers :D

i've been to shows alone and i have just as much fun as if i was with somebody.
it gets a little lonely in between sets but just take a few extra trips to the merch table and you'll be fine haha!

ha, yeah going to the merch table is a good one....it's not really a big deal to go to shows alone. grab a drink and chill by the front of the stage. all those people are usually really big fans who love to chat about the band with anyone.

Going alone is no big deal. My philosophy is that I'm not going to miss out on any fun just because my friends are lame. Waiting in-between sets can get a little boring, but I almost always find an amusing conversation in eavesdrop on. It's not like I'd be talking to anyone that came with me anyway once the band goes on.

Tickets are $27, plus then you have to buy $5 of vegan food. Meh...

From what I hear though they have some very good Mac n' Cheese! I heard just vegetarian, not vegan.

i could go on a rant about shutting your mind to vegan food (i'm vegetarian myself), but i won't. instead i will say that they in fact are a vegetarian restaurant with vegan food and substitutions. and they have plenty of real cheese there. it just happens to come from happier animals. the menu is here

    /hijack

i'll be there. can't wait! i will say that having them play on my birthday the past few years has spoiled me a bit, but a few days before isn't so bad.

ps. oreo cookies are vegan. and that's just one example. 8)

The mac and cheese is what I always get. Pretty bummed I can't make it to these shows. Anyone know if there are any local tapers still (especially if I'm not going, nor is Derek)

OK, now after all this talk I want to go to the show just so I can try the food (I'm a vegetarian). SK6ers who? Maybe Laura will pack me in her luggage......I want to meet some east coasters, too! :)

Meeting me is just so awesome, who even needs the Sixers to be there? Haha.

I start drooling when I think about the shows...because of the food!

Jen- You are definitely invited to hop in my luggage, as long as you pay for the heavy bag fees! ;)

to whoever asked about going alone...definitely do it! i actually prefer alone shows...you get to do whatever you want and don't have to worry about anyone else. i guess i'm kinda selfish.
just chill by the stage...you'll have fun!

Toystore - I went to the Chicago show sans friends and had a great time. I echo the statement about being able to do what you want if you're by yourself! I was in town for a wedding, and they were playing that weekend, so I made my flight specifically to catch the show. The only thing that kind of sucks is that you have to fight for your spot back when you refill. Plus, I was texting a friend by the merch table unsuspectingly when SK himself sat down next to me, so I got to say hi. No way my friends would have let me stand there that long!

    Have a great time!

to whoever was asking about O.A.R. it's just Jerry, the sax player, not the whole band, he's awesome though. Plus Pat McGee, he's so good too. I'm pumped for this show, the late one that is.
